Description
The LM Series is Figurtech's multi-channel leak tester — a single instrument that tests 2 or 4 components simultaneously in fully independent channels. Where a conventional single-channel tester with a 15-second cycle produces 240 units per hour, a 4-channel LM with the same cycle time produces 960 — a 4× throughput gain from one footprint.
How It Works
Each channel in the LM Series operates as a fully independent leak test circuit: its own pressure sensor, its own valve set, its own pass/fail decision, and its own data record. A fault on channel 2 does not delay, contaminate, or affect the test result on channels 1, 3, or 4. The instrument can run all channels simultaneously in synchronous mode (all parts tested at identical timing) or in independent mode (each channel starts on its own trigger signal).

Typical Applications
- Switch button assemblies (4-channel): Four buttons tested simultaneously in one fixture cycle. Each button is an independent DUT — a seal failure on button 3 rejects only that unit, not the batch (Case CE-1: 18–150 kPa, LT-Q01 pneumatic connectors)
- Bicycle computer IP67 (2-channel): Two housings tested per fixture cycle at 12–15 kPa with LT-Q02 external-clamp pneumatic connectors — doubles throughput without doubling floor space
- Smartphone and wearable housings: 2-channel or 4-channel configurations for IP68 validation at 9.5–15 kPa on automated assembly fixtures
- Multi-cavity molded components: Products with 2 or 4 discrete internal cavities that must each pass independently
Fixture and Connector Integration
The LM Series is typically deployed with pneumatic quick-seal connectors (LT-Q01 inner-expansion or LT-Q02 external-clamp) that engage all channels simultaneously in one actuator stroke. This enables takt times as short as 12–18 seconds including fixture open/close — compatible with high-volume consumer electronics assembly lines running 1,000+ units per shift.
Why LM?
- 4× throughput, 1× footprint: One instrument replaces four single-channel testers — saves capital cost and floor space
- Independent channels: No cross-contamination between channels; a blown seal on one DUT doesn't affect adjacent tests
- Unified data management: All channel results consolidated in one record per fixture cycle — simplifies SPC and traceability
- Automation-ready: Designed for use with pneumatic fixture automation; no operator involvement required after loading
The LM Series is the standard recommendation for consumer electronics IP67/IP68 lines, switch assembly lines, and any application where multiple identical units must be tested per cycle. Contact us to specify channel count, test pressure, and fixture requirements.
